a really fun, thinky little mystery game about a tangled family tree that resists investigation and intimidation. the roottrees are dead does a great job capturing what's interesting about information media, and how it's not inherently sticky. we live in a world where we're accustomed to being able to get information (whether or true or not) just as quick as we can ask it: roottrees asks us to pay attention, to leaf through the past, and to find facts in places where it was once recorded and then forgotten.
